How to start an LLC in Florida

Forming a Florida LLC generally involves choosing an available business name, designating a registered agent, and filing Articles of Organization with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations.

You'll also want to consider an operating agreement, annual report filings, applicable tax obligations, required licenses, and other documents relevant to your business.

Florida requires an LLC to continuously maintain a registered agent and registered office in the state. Starting the year after it is formed, a Florida LLC generally must file an annual report each year between January 1 and May 1.

DocDraft helps you organize the information and prepare relevant legal documents as you work through these decisions.

Some questions call for more than paperwork. Explore document review and consultation options with a licensed attorney.

Residential leaseExample draft

12. Security deposit. Landlord will refund the deposit, less deductions for damage beyond normal wear and tear1, within 15 days after the lease ends; if Landlord intends to make a claim on the deposit, Landlord will send Tenant written notice of the claim by certified mail, or by e-mail where the law allows, within 30 days.

1Question for an attorney

Does carpet wear from two years of normal living count as damage?

18. Default. If rent is late, Landlord may demand payment by giving Tenant written notice allowing three days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, to pay2; if Tenant does not pay in full within that time, Landlord may end the lease and file an eviction action.

2Question for an attorney

If I pay part of the rent during the three days, does the notice still count?
