How to start an LLC in Ohio

Forming an Ohio LLC generally involves choosing an available business name, appointing a statutory agent, and filing Articles of Organization with the Ohio Secretary of State.

You'll also want to consider an operating agreement, applicable tax obligations, required licenses, and other documents relevant to your business.

Ohio requires an LLC to maintain a statutory agent with an Ohio address, and the agent generally must sign an acceptance of the appointment. Ohio does not require LLCs to file an annual report with the Secretary of State.

DocDraft helps you organize the information and prepare relevant legal documents as you work through these decisions.
